Does not attract cardinals February 24, 2010 Carol A. Underwood (Michigan) If you are hoping, as I was, to see more cardinals in your yard using this feeder, you will be disapointed. The cardinals do not prefer this type of feeder at all. I have only seen one or two of them use it in the six months I have had it. I do get lots of cardinals, but they ignore this feeder like the plague. Instead, they prefer to eat off the ground (typical of cardinals) or they use a standard feeder on a stand I have had for years. The cardinal ring portion of this feeder is a joke. If you want a squirell proof feeder , this will work, but don't expect the cardinals to use it, even with the so called "cardinal ring". I'm sorry I wasted my money on it, thinking the cardinals would like it. c.u. Michigan
Very Pleased February 24, 2010 Asher (Casselberry, Fl United States) Finally the feeder isn't emptied by the squirrels in 2 hours. It took awhile for the Cardinals and Bluejays to figure it out but they have it now. I also bought the Roller Feeder which was more expensive and so far nothing has eaten out of it.
True squirrel buster February 19, 2010 Eyegirl (Gainesville, FL) The only seeds our squirrels have gotten from this feeder is just what has fallen to the ground from the birds eating.
Two Thumbs Up for This Feeder! February 17, 2010 gnk (nj) This bird feeder really does what it says and the squirrels have given up trying to get into the feeder. It's sturdy and easy to use. Love this product.
GOOD SQUIRREL PROOF FEEDER February 11, 2010 K. J. GARRETT (Rogers, AR) I'VE HAD THIS FEEDER FOR SEVERAL YEARS AND HAVE NEVER SEEN A SQUIRREL SUCCESSFULLY DINE ON THE SEED AT THIS FEEDER. IT ALSO HOLDS A GOOD AMOUNT OF SEED. IF THERE IS A NEGATIVE, IT'S HARD TO CLEAN. ALSO, KEEP AN EYE OUT DURING WINTER STORMS. IF ENOUGH ICE OR SNOW BUILDS UP ON THE PERCH IT SHUTS OFF THE SEED PORTS JUST AS IF A SQUIRREL WERE ON THE PERCH.
