4 out of 5 stars Squirrel Feeder Review   April 5, 2008
H. D. Pugh (Portland, OR USA)
When moving into our new house a few years ago, my wife and I found the previous owner left a squirrel feeder on a tree in the back yard. The feeder was in pretty bad shape so we decided to purchase one. I found this one on the internet and bought two. We also bought a squirrel nest from the internet made from an old tire. The squirrels loved them both. The next spring we enjoyed watching the baby squirrels follow their mother around in the back yard (while our dog was in the house) and learning how to open the lid to get to the nuts. Eventually we bought another nest and a couple more feeders. Now we are anticipating two sets of babies sometimes this spring.

The feeders work great but do need cleaning from time to time. If you get more than one, don't put them too close to each other. Squirrels can be very territorial and don't like to share. Also, we've seen where the squirrels will pull out the Plexiglas window and get to the whole stash. Looks like we'll have to modify the feeder to keep the glass window secure in the feeder.

My wife told me about seeing a raccoon eating on one of the feeders a few mornings ago. Surprising to find that creature in the middle of our neighborhood.
